Frankie in Sydney.
Fresh roti wrapped around a spiced filling, painted with tangy Frankie masala and green chutney, finished with raw onion. Mumbai's answer to the burrito — invented decades before wraps went global.
What is a Frankie?
The Frankie was created in 1969 by Amarjit Singh Tibb, who opened Tibb's Frankie in Mumbai after being inspired by Middle-Eastern shawarma. He invented the signature Frankie masala — a tangy, tart spice blend that goes on the roti before the filling is rolled in.
Our veg Frankies come in Paneer, Aloo, Cheese and Schezwan variants — each wrapped in a soft roti made to order.
Why Sydney searches for Frankie
"Frankie Sydney" is a rising search term as more Mumbaikars move to NSW. Most Indian restaurants offer kathi rolls but not proper Frankies — the masala is different, the filling is different. We serve the real Mumbai version.
How we make it
